The 3-Day Evangelization and Crusade held from 12th to 14th November 2025 at New Tako gathered parishioners of St. Paul Cathedral and residents of the community under the inspiring theme, “Be a Disciple of Jesus.” The event opened with a warm welcome from Mrs. Catherine Akoto Manu, the church’s Vice President, who expressed joy and gratitude as the Catholic faithful united to support the establishment of a new church in the area. Her words set the tone for a spirit-filled encounter and a renewed sense of mission.

In his introductory remarks, V. Rev. Fr. James Annor-Ohene outlined the guiding pillars of the evangelization and crusade. He emphasized the need to create awareness of the new Catholic church being established at New Tako, to call lapsed Catholics in the community back to active participation, and to invite all residents to join this emerging faith community. He further highlighted the importance of securing land on which the new church would be built and harnessing the resources necessary to ensure its growth and sustainability. These pillars formed the backbone of the entire mission.

The first day’s message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Acheampong Ayori, who focused on the identity of Jesus based on historical and biblical foundations. His teaching reminded participants that understanding who Jesus truly is forms the basis of authentic Christian discipleship. By grounding faith in solid historical evidence and Scripture, Fr. Ayori invited the congregation to embrace a deeper and more informed relationship with Christ.

On the second day, Rev. Fr. Peter Amisah preached a powerful sermon titled “Come, Follow Me.” He centered his message on three key reflections: the reasons why one should follow Jesus, the benefits that come from following Him, and the challenges that every disciple must expect along the way. His call to discipleship stirred hearts and encouraged both parishioners and residents to embrace Jesus’ invitation with courage and faith.

The final day featured yet another impactful message by Rev. Fr. Peter Amisah, titled “God’s Word Is Our Hope Today.” Drawing on John 1:1–3, Hebrews 4:12, and Psalm 119:105, he emphasized that God’s Word is alive, active, and the ultimate source of hope for believers facing the uncertainties of life. He explained that Scripture gives life, transforms hearts, and provides direction in times of confusion. His reflections strengthened the congregation’s trust in the enduring power of God’s Word.

In the end, the 3-day evangelization and crusade left a lasting spiritual impact on the New Tako community. Faith was strengthened, commitment was renewed, and the vision of establishing a vibrant Catholic church in New Tako grew clearer. Above all, the event echoed Jesus’ timeless call—“Come, follow Me”—a call that continues to inspire believers to embrace true discipleship and work together toward building a strong and flourishing church community.
